In 2005 and 2007, she was named as one of the Top Pediatricians in the United States by the Consumer’s Research Council of America.

 

Dr. Thompson is a mother, a grandmother, and the author of eight books including Raising a Handicapped Child published in 1986, and now in its fifth edition.

Training with the top muscle disease specialists in the world paved the way for her book, Raising a Child with a Neuromuscular Disorder, as well as ground-breaking journal articles and presentation papers at key international medical conferences. She has also written 101 Ways To the Best Medical Care. Her latest book is Grandparenting a Child with Special Needs.
