This entire volume felt like filler. Compared to the stuff that happened in the last volume and the stuff that was hinted to be coming once we reach the beast kingdom, it felt like nothing of import happened here except for one thing. There's an encounter that definitely hints at a much larger scale to the story than what we've seen so far, but since there's no explanation of what's going on, it just feels like it's building up to something that we won't get to see for ages. There's some decent character interactions and whatnot, but honestly, I feel like I probably could've just skipped this volume and gone straight to the next one and not missed much.

Probably going to be good. I'll wait for the price to drop though. The rest of the series was around the 10$ mark. 3$ increase for a shorter book? I'll wait. Seven Seas is trying to rip us off.
