Addressing this need, the book presents recently introduced features, emerging techniques, and new strategies, complemented by detailed illustrations. Covering the status quo and offering an outlook on the future, it benefits all readers with an interest in functional materials, especially micro/nano imaging materials for biomedical imaging applications, providing them with both vital updates and inspiration for their own research.

About the author

Prof. Dr. Zhe Liu received his B. S. in Sichuan University in 2001, and acquired Ph. D. in the Institute of Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2007. Afterwards, he joined the Molecular Imaging Program at Stanford (MIPS) at Stanford University for postdoctoral scholarship on development of novel PET imaging tracers for early detection of cancers between the years of 2007-2008. In 2009, he moved to the University of Aachen (RWTH), Germany and started the research on nanomedicine and polymeric theranostic biomaterials in the field of ultrasound and magnetic resonance imaging. Since early 2014, Prof. Dr. Liu built up the Lab of Bio-Imaging and Translational Medicine (LBITM) in Wenzhou Institute of Biomaterials and Engineering (WIBE), Chinese Academy of Sciences and become a leading PI in the field of multifunctional micro/nano biomaterials for imaging, drug delivery and therapy of vascular diseases. He is also a member of Radiology Society of North America (RSNA) and World Molecular Imaging Society (WMIS), and an adjunct professor of Harbin Institute of Technology and the Second Affiliated Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University.
