About this ebook

Ancient gods. Modern war. And a star-crossed couple who could use some divine intervention.

The day I was drafted into the army of the gods, all I knew about being a MASH surgeon was what I’d learned from Hawkeye Pierce and Hot Lips Houlihan. Now here I am, Dr. Petra Robichaud, in the middle of an immortal war, assigned to a MASH camp with a nosy sphinx, a vegetarian werewolf, and an uptight vampire who really needs to get a life.

At least they’re all too busy with their own dramas to discover my secret: I can see the dead. It’s a forbidden gift, one that can get me killed, so I haven’t told a soul.

Until the arrestingly intense Galen arrives on my operating table, half-dead and totally to-die-for. When his spirit tries to slip out of his fatally wounded body, I impulsively slip it back in. Call it a rash resurrection. One I’ll live to regret.

Now Commander Galen of Delphi knows my secret, and he’s convinced I’m part of an ancient prophecy—one that can end the war for good. But taking a chance could cost me everything. And it would be easier to convince him to leave me alone, except now the prophecies are starting to come true…

Warning: This novel contains a hefty dose of danger, drama, practical jokes, pet swamp lizards, brooding demigods, adventure, romance, and heart—in a MASH camp where everybody knows your business.

*The core of this book was originally called Immortally Yours, published by St. Martin's Press in 2012. The author has rewritten it into the way she always envisioned the story to be, which means it is now a romantic comedy instead of an angsty book. Oh, and there are a lot more pet swamp lizards, too.

DNF at 25%. This sounded intriguing, a human doctor conscripted to work in a MASH unit with a group of werewolves, vampires, etc in a war between the Gods. And of course our heroine is special, because she can see the dead but she keeps it to herself until she accidentally pulls back a soul from a dead man into his body and brings him back to life. Now doesn't that sound great? Sadly, I just felt thrust into a plot with very little explanation and then it degenerated into our heroine lusting after Galen, the warrior she saved and everything being a little bit like High School. I stopped and started this several times over the last month but I am now admitting defeat, it just hasn't grabbed my interest. I received a free copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in return for an honest review.

The Monster Mash is a Smash. OK. So not that original but it’s funny. This was a tough beginning for a new book for me. Mostly because it is nothing like the Southern Ghost Hunter or the Biker Witches series. I enjoyed the parallels to MASH and the well-thought-out integration of MASH and the Sci-Fi/fantasy of the Gods at war. Dr. Petra, her fellow surgeons, Rodger (vegetarian Werewolf) and Marius (moody Vampire) work every day to defeat death that stalks all of their patients. Then Galen of Delphi shows up – badly injured – and Petra saves him, all of him, even his spirit. But this exposes her secret, if only to Galen. She can see and interact with ghosts. This sets loose a world-changing prophecy. Now Galen, the warrior hero, and Petra are bound to follow the prophecies in the hope of stopping the centuries old war. Petra also is determined to protect her heart from the very handsome Galen and he is determined to open her heart to him. The action in the camp and field is exciting and the action between the lead characters is thought provoking. I enjoyed this story and am looking forward to the next installment.

Dr Petra Robichaud is drafted to be a MASH surgeon for a war between the old gods and the new gods. This war has been going on for centuries with no end in sight. Life is hard in Limbo as Petra spends every day repairing soldiers and sending them back to fight. But Petra has a secret, she can see the dead. If she is found out, death would be the best thing to happen to her. Galen of Delphi arrives mortally wounded by a bronze knife and she saves him by shoving his spirit back into his body. Now he convinced that she is part of a prophecy to end the war. He believes together they will bring peace. I read this story when it was originally published. There are changes since the original publication. I got a kick out of the camp trying to play practical jokes on the camp commander Kostas trying to win vacation time. You have Rodger a vegetarian werewolf roommate who collects swamp dinosaurs and Maurius a very uptight and brooding vampire who is constantly annoyed by his roommates. This version of the series focuses more on the relationships and friendships of the people in the camp. I look forward to reading the other two books in the series.
