About this ebook

Jonah doesn’t want to run–he has to. There’s only so much pain one man can cause before he needs to start over. Unstuck from his tainted past, he craves the anonymity he can only achieve by vanishing like a specter in the night.

Before his new life is even underway, a chance encounter leaves him in possession of a curious object–something the mysterious Keepers of The Oracle will kill to obtain, but there’s more to the Keepers than Jonah could possibly imagine. They have the ability to do much worse than kill, and now he's in their sights.

The Keepers wield power unlike anything Jonah has ever seen, and they’re closing in fast. He’s placed a new group of innocents in danger this time, and he can’t run away again.

I'll be the first to admit that, for me, sci-fi can be a hit or miss genre. I'm more of an urban fantasy guy when it comes to bending my mind. The quality of the writing is good, it definitely draws you into the action but I have to admit that I felt a sense of disconnect with the characters. I wanted to know what was going to happen but I didn't really care what happened to the characters. One of the driving motivations for the main character also seemed a bit contrived. All in all, I felt like I had more questions than answers when it was all said in done, but that could very well have been the author's intent. To summarize, well crafted and intelligent story that leaves you wondering if the stranger you shared a drink at the bar with last night slipped you a roofie.

Enjoyed it. A few bits where it's easy to lose track of where things are, or where someone went, but maybe that's intentional. All in all, a good read if you like a mix of futuristic sci fi fantasy type stuff.

I went into this not knowing a thing about it, not even the genera, and I must recommend that anyone else does as well if possible (if you have somehow got to my review without reading anything else on the page) as I didn't expect it to go in that direction. However thanks to my second read I can say that it is still enjoyable even if you know. One last thing, £100 notes don't exist.
