About this ebook

The fifth book in the bestselling Gone series by Michael Grant continues the page-turning saga of Sam, Astrid, and Drake in their terrifying post-apocalyptic world.

It's been one year since all the adults disappeared. Gone.

Despite the hunger, despite the lies, even despite the plague, the kids of Perdido Beach are determined to survive. Creeping into the tenuous new world they've built, though, is the worst incarnation yet of the enemy known as the Darkness: fear.

Within the FAYZ, life breaks down while the Darkness takes over—turning the dome-world of the FAYZ entirely black. A will to survive and a desire to take care of those they love endure in this ravaged band, even in the bleakest moments. But in darkness, the worst fears of all emerge, and the cruelest of intentions are carried out. After so many months, is all about to be lost in the FAYZ?

“Fans can count on more excellent storytelling, multidimensional characters who continue to develop in unexpected ways, and some mighty find eye-popping moments.” —VOYA (starred review)

Good book, and a brilliant plot. I love the way drake is so scared of brianna and spends time hiding with coyotes, the coward! I don't like some scenes though.

This series is the gift that keeps on giving. Nothing is what it seems in this book and it looks like the baby is coming sooner than expected, but it was obvious it was gonna come early. Death finnaly comes to an unexpected character and Astrid has changed drastically from when we last read about her. Sam struggles to keep away from the darkness, Orc is getting better and it looks like the relationship between Dekka and Brianna will finnaly be resolved. Book 5 is amazing and I hope for even more in Book 6

THE best of the gone series and possibly the best book I've ever read. It's got suspense and a great storyline, although you would have to read the rest of the series to fully understand it.

About the author

Michael Grant, author of the Gone series, the Messenger of Fear series, the Magnificent Twelve series, and the Front Lines trilogy, has spent much of his life on the move. Raised in a military family, he attended ten schools in five states, as well as three schools in France. Even as an adult he kept moving, and in fact he became a writer in part because it was one of the few jobs that wouldn’t tie him down. His fondest dream is to spend a year circumnavigating the globe and visiting every continent. Yes, even Antarctica. He lives in California with his wife, Katherine Applegate, with whom he cowrote the wildly popular Animorphs series.
