I received a copy in return for an honest review. Melanie has a newly minted Phd and now the world is her oyster. But her friends think all work and no play has made Melanie a dull girl, indeed so a blind date is the solution. But when Melanie gets more than she bargained for, can she accept that humans share the Earth with others? An Alpha's Path by Carrie Ann Ryan is first in the Redwood Pack series. I loved that Ms. Ryan gave us an extremely intelligent female character in Melanie. She is dropped into a wold she doesn't understand but she tries. And Kane has found himself with a potential mate yet again but wants this one more than ever. I loved that Kane is determined to allow Melanie to choose. Even as his heart breaks he follows a code known only to him. He has a strong code of ethics even as it costs him everything....or does it? This story is a well written, quick read. I enjoyed meeting Kane and Melanie and look forward to where Ms. Ryan will take us next.

Short, sexy, entertaining escape into a magical world with a quirky love story. Melanie is a twenty-five year old chemist, she is career driven and ready to take on the world on her own terms after doing things dictated for her early in her life. She was only looking for a one night encounter to get out of her lab and live a little. Kade, a werewolf and the heir to the Redwood Pack has been burned by love once already and was just looking to have a relaxing night with a beautiful woman. Neither bargained on forever and though Kade knows right away Melanie is a lot harder to convince. Looking forward to visiting the Redwood Pack again.

An Alpha's Path is Book 1 in the Redwood Pack series by Carrie Ann Ryan. It was a great lead off to the series showcasing how Kade and Melanie met and became mated. It was very short so there wasn't a lot of room for character development or a more in depth plot. Overall, I did enjoy it immensely and look forward to reading more of this series.
