"My Husband's Girlfriend" (Formerly known as "The Whisper") was definitely a gripping page-turner, filled with questioning narratives and many surprisingly twists. I enjoyed this from the start but did think the author gave away too many clues because I was able to piece together many of the puzzle pieces long before they were revealed. However, as I always think "I've got it totally figure out this time" I was indeed wrong yet again because there were several pieces of puzzle I did not work out and was genuinely shocked by when all was said and done. One of the main themes of this focused on how we shouldn't judge someone by their cover or solely based on first impressions. We often find ourselves creating false narratives about people when we lack the entire perspective to do so, which was the case with Sarah and Laura. Sarah's constant paranoia (for good reason) kept her from ever seeing the other side of Laura and getting the full picture, and Laura's inability to face her past and recover her memory kept her from ever trusting...well...everyone. Overall I definitely enjoyed this and was excited to see what the big reveal was going to be (there were a few) and would read more from this author. What a whirlwind of emotion this book was! I totally got Sarah’s concerns and loved her chapters. I felt her apprehension as she’d hand her little boy over to her ex husband and his new partner, Laura. As the concerns about her piled up, the intensity of the story increased to breathtaking heights. The complexity of the problems really wove around intricately, taking me on a journey. Revelations escaped at just the right time, keeping me glued to the pages and dying to know what would happen next. Oh, and ‘this is our little secret...’ - that line is immensely creepy when children are involved. I found Laura to be a more complicated character which is what made her so intriguing. I also loved how things twisted and turned. One minute I was convinced that I knew what was happening then something would challenge that thought. The ending was a whopper and definitely jaw dropping. This psychological thriller had me totally gripped throughout and I read it it in two sittings. It’s a fast read so buckle up. If it’s speedy, breathtaking and twisty you’re after, ‘My Husband’s Girlfriend’ is your book!

What do you get when you combine Sheryl Browne and a psychological thriller together? A damn fine read that’s what! I was so excited when I saw that a new book was on the way, that when I got my hands on a copy to read, everything was put on hold. I was instantly transported into this latest world she has created where I buckled up ready to be taken on one twisty and wild ride, as is always the case with Sheryl Browne’s books. This book took me on an emotional deep dive with feelings alternating between concern, doubt and fear then to the very worse, absolute terror! The idea of anyone’s child being taken strikes a universal cord of fear mixed with god I hope that doesn’t happen to me or someone I love. Sheryl Browne does an amazing job of taking you inside lead character Sarah’s heart and mind and I couldn’t wait for the ending to unfold hoping all along that my fears would be eased, but this is little wicked Sheryl Browne I’m talking about! The queen of the jaw dropping twist, Sheryl Browne got the better of me once again and kept me totally in the dark until she was good and ready to reveal all. It always makes for a more enjoyable reading experience when this is the case and Sheryl Browne never gives you any indication of the direction she is taking the story. You think you know, then BAM she pulls the rug out from underneath you. I really do love that about her books. My Husband’s Girlfriend is a compelling and gripping tale that is a must read for fans of psychological thrillers. Strong and complex characters, brilliant writing and it really makes you think about how deceptive appearances can be. if you haven’t read a book from this talented author before, then My Husband’s Girlfriend is the perfect one to start with. Intense, dark and so very addictive, I guarantee that you will not be disappointed.
