About this ebook

#1 NATIONAL BESTSELLER • In this “thoroughly gripping” (New York Times) continuation of the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo series, Lisbeth Salander lies in critical condition in a Swedish hospital, a bullet in her head. But she's fighting for her life in more ways than one: if and when she recovers, she'll stand trial for three murders. • Also known as the Millennium series

In the next installment of the Millennium series, with the help of Mikael Blomkvist, Salander will need to identify those in authority who have allowed the vulnerable, like herself, to suffer abuse and violence. And, on her own, she'll seek revenge—against the man who tried to kill her and against the corrupt government institutions that nearly destroyed her life.

Weakest of the three, though still amazingly compelling considering half of it takes place in a single room. Larsson's decision to depict the psychiatrist's motivations with the simplicity that he did was more than a little disappointing. Definitely a step down from the black-and-grey morality of the protagonists. But hey, at least we knew who the bag guys were, right? Would have been extremely interesting to read the full ten-book cycle to see where the author wanted to take it, but...

Another great, fast-paced read. Hornet's Nest picks up right where The girl who played with fie left off and doesn't stop until the last chapter. There was never a point where I wanted to put this book down. The final book of the trilogy was able to throw a lot of detailed plot in since we already know the main characters so well. My only disappointment was the final chapter which tied up some loose ends in an odd way that I felt didn't need to be tied up any more. I recommend all three books!

A fine ending to an entertaining trilogy. The story trudged along, though, for the first two thirds then culminated in an action packed ending third with the Section setup and Salander trial. It didn't help that I had to take a couple weeks off from reading at lunch to deal with work issues; other wise the story would have had more compact attention for cohesiveness. It was good to get a positive closure for Mikael with his personal issues as well as the Salander-Mikael relationship.
