A Taste for a Mate is Book 2 of Carrie Ann Ryan's Redwood Pack series. I've already read the Talon Pack series so I've been enjoying "going back to the beginning" and reading about everything you only get a small glimpse of in the Talon series. This story had it all. A very engaging story line with the start of the war between the Redwood and Central Packs, intense action and scorching hot heat between Jasper and Willow. I've enjoyed getting to know the rest of Jasper's family and cannot wait to read their stories.

I read this book as a part of the Redwood Wolves Vol 1. I like how Carrie Ann Ryan developed her characters in this story. I really felt that Jasper and Willow were real people and grew during the story. Willow was placed in some very unpleasant situations, and yet she was still able to move forward and look to make those around her were taken care of. Jasper started forgetting to take into account that those around him, cough Willow, have feeling and say in what their life should look like. As so often in real life, Jasper figured it out almost too late. One of my favorite sayings is "stupidity should be painful or expensive" and I think Jasper would understand that, too bad it was painful for Willow too. I am really looking forward to reading more of this series and learning more about the world Carrie Ann Ryan has created.

It's too fast paced and the story is not even close to believable. There is no real meat to this story. That being said I've read other books by Carrie that are better than this but I couldn't even make it to third chapter. The reviews on this book are rigged. Just saying, I'm glad it was free
