With the cliffhanger ending of catching fire, I couldn't wait to grab this final installment. After 30% of the way into the book, however, I just had no interest in the story anymore. I put it down and read the synopsis on Wikipedia. The book has a much larger scope but still traps you in Katniss' head with all her stubborn opinions. I just naturally came to think of the story how Katniss thought of it. The poor writing(or editing) also became more obvious-lots of clumsy wording and dangling modifiers.

I cannot believe how many people absolutely loved the series. This may be good for teens (stress on that "may") but as a 26 year old who was curious about the series- I was extremely disappointed. It could have been SO much better. I felt like Katniss was rolled up in a ball the entire time, whining while rocking back and forth. For someone who is the protagonist of the series, the author did a horrible job with her.

I just finished reading this and was disappointed. I have no idea people are giving this 5 stars. The ending wasn't good, at times the story seemed to drag on, there wasn't much suspense and what was there led to the story just going flat, unanswered questions, people dieing for no reason and for the most part without any reason for the reader to be sad, and for most of the book Katniss just rambles on. The author must have been trying to meet a deadline rather than finish it properly. Or ran out of ideas.
