About this ebook

The direction of many of our conversations can be changed quickly when you know how. Once you learn to lead the conversation, others will follow, ensuring your discussion is productive, rather than explosive. These skills can be used anywhere, with anyone. They calm the conversation and put the focus on the solution instead of the problem.

About the author

Karen Phillip is regarded as one of Australia’s prominent Counselling Psychotherapists. A relationship and parenting authority, leading clinical hypnotherapist, and communication expert.

Karen Phillip is the parenting, relationship and communication expert on television, radio, and print media, both here and overseas. She is an international author and keynote speaker.

Karen is one of the rare "family futurists". With years of experience, Karen is seeing the changes in families and individuals over many decades, in the way they interact and communicate. She is now writing and speaking about the variation we can expect in the way families communicate and the type of life we can expect for our children, as society changes and technology explodes.

The range of modalities Karen utilises in her therapy is broad. Her vast experience and education enable her to combine a variety of treatments created for every individual client. Some of her therapeutic work involves CBT, Solution Focused, Gestalt, EFT, Client Centered, Transactional Analysis (TA), plus much more. Karen teaches a variety of therapies to other Counsellors, Hypnotherapists and Psychotherapists.

By using a variety of specific therapies, designed for each person, she enables transformation, growth and reconnection. Karen has had extensive training allowing her to work with individuals, couples and corporate professionals to identify repetitive patterns of behaviour and to change psychological structures that promote personal growth and development.

Karen loves speaking to large corporate groups entertaining and informing them on a variety of topical matters. She continues to appear on national television and radio discussing current matters and issues.

Over the past few years, much of Karen's work has involved refining communication techniques of individuals, couples and workplaces. The strategies Karen has designed can enrich any conversation while eliminating conflict. Karen has a vast and wide range of formal qualifications which has enabled her to develop the extensive strategies taught within these pages.

Karen still works with people in her private rooms and conducts workplace training, while presenting new and improved customer service and communication techniques for increased productivity to organisations and businesses.

The changes people can make to their lives and relationships once these techniques are learned is incredible. In one client's words, 'Tracey', "You have changed my life". When Karen asked her how she told her "I don't react to people now when they say things a little abrupt or confronting, I wonder the reason, then I use the eye patters and specific words and it just seems I take control of the conversation. People and family are just listening to me now and I haven't had one argument in forever, which is so interesting because before I learned this I was fighting and arguing almost every day with either my husband, kids or the challenging personalities at work ".

This is the type of change you all can make in your life.
