Definitely not upto the mark to other books in the series. The characters are SO annoying in their immaturity. The climax was the only saving grace. This book looks like two children married each other with no knowledge of each other and how to be their own person at all. The book is just both characters whining about their woes, looks and failures. When the twists come, they come in 2-3 pages only like bang! bang! bang! and then it's back to mediocrity. Mrs. Stone had more backbone than the heroine and better character than the hero. Charity is just like "woe is me" and can't be independent of a man. Her father dies and suddenly her husband is the centre of her world. The reconciliation scene was so bad. One logical flaw - How did Charity attend finishing school and ton functions when her father had no money? Was she blind that she did not realise her family's problems before Had to plod through the story just out of respect for the other books in the series. Not a worthy read at all.
