About this ebook

Everyone has plans … until something—or someone—comes along to change them.

At thirty-five, Randall, Marquess of Reading, decides it's time to trade in his life as the ‘Rake of Reading’ and take a wife. Trouble is, his reputation precedes him. When Constance meets him in the park, she's intrigued by the gentleman she thinks is a well-to-do cit with a fascination for horse racing. Determined to discover what’s become of her inheritance and then return to her home and horses to live as an independent woman, she’s not interested in being courted. Or is she?

Eleanor Merriweather is in London for her come-out with a dream to marry her perfect knight. Having been duped by a brothel's madame upon her arrival, she finds herself completely and thoroughly ruined by Charles, Earl of Wakefield. Only twenty-five, he enjoys life far too much to consider marriage, but Eleanor might be the one to change his mind on the matter—except she’s in love with his brother!

Since not everyone is who they seem to be, it may take a bit of horse sense for these four to get on the right track in The Love of a Rake.

The Love of a Rake by Linda Rae Sande Reviewed for Candid Book Reviews What I like about Ms. Sande is that she has a style that is unlike anyone else. Her stories are full of sensual delights but also have characters with intriguing stories to tell. The Love of a Rake is an intertwining story. Randall, Charles, Constance and Eleanor each have a story to tell but are connected in the quest for love and a chance at happiness. Randall has reached a point in his life where he knows he has to make a change and get responsible. Constance is a force all her own. She is independent with a quick mind and a love of animals. Eleanor is the opposite of Constance. She's an innocent dreamer that finds herself in a sticky situation. Her life is changed forever after trusting the wrong people. Is her happy ending lost forever? I received a copy of The Love of a Rake by Linda Rae Sande in exchange for an honest review. The character that touched my heart the most was Eleanor. She made some questionable choices but her pureness of heart stayed intact regardless of the heartache and despair thrown in her path.

**** SPOILER ALERT **** "The Love Of A Rake" is another fine story from Sande. The author turns in great world building and character development as they balance action and exposition. This entertaining tale explores if some of the characters can rise above their reputations. While I listened to this book on Audible, I would recommend it to my fellow readers in whatever format that they prefer. Those of you that prefer the hardcopy, or ebook formats can skip this next bit as I'm going to talk about the book's narrator. Michael Troughton turns in another very fine performance bringing this book to life. His voicing is phenomenal and his audio production on the book is top notch! I particularly like that he, very sparingly, utilizes sound effects that help make things a bit clearer while listening to the story. In the interest of transparency: I was given a review copy of this book and I am voluntarily sharing this review. It is my own honest opinion.,
