Your Weight Loss Stall Is Not Your Fault

For years you’ve been told that eating fat makes you fat and that a calorie is a calorie is a calorie. Anyone who understands the science of Low Carb dieting knows this is just not true. Prepare to have your mind blown!

Who would have thought that the fastest way to lose fat – while maintaining muscle mass – was to eat mostly fat?!

In testing, the Fat Fast (also called the Atkins Fat Fast) – 1,000 calories per day, 90% from pure fat – resulted in average fat loss – not just weight loss, but fat loss – of over a pound per day! It’s a radical, short-term strategy, but boy, does it work.

The Fat Fast Cookbook includes 50 fabulous low carb, high fat recipes that can help you break your weight loss stall or help your body become keto-adapted, catapulting you into Nutritional Ketosis. It does this with 50 great recipes to help you implement the Fat Fast.

Break Your Weight Loss Stall with the Atkins Fat Fast

About the author

Dana Carpender

A pioneer of the low carb frontier, best-selling author Dana Carpender went low

carb in 1995, after whole-grain-and-beaning her way up to a size 20. Immediate

weight loss and sky-rocketing energy told her this was what her body had been

waiting for her to do, that she had set her foot on a path from which there was no

return. However, it rapidly became clear that to eat this way for life, she—and

others—needed the answer to one simple question: What’s for dinner? The

answer will be found in her cookbooks, eleven of them so far, encompassing over

2,500 recipes. Dana has been fighting the low-fat lie since 1998 at

HoldTheToast.com. She lives in Indiana with three dogs, a cat, a backyard full of

chickens—and, of course, That Nice Boy She Married, with whom she shares

much bacon on a pleasant Sunday morning.

Amy Dungan

Amy is a writer and photographer, living in Southern Illinois with her husband

and two children. She started on the low-carb lifestyle in 2001 after frantically

searching for a way to lose weight and deal with health problems. She’s had

some ups and downs over the years, but continues to push forward in the

pursuit of good health. In her free time, she enjoys embarrassing her kids in

public, spending time with her husband, and contemplating the true meaning of

bacon. You can learn more about her continuing journey at

Rebecca Latham

Rebecca started the low-carb lifestyle in 2009 after trying to lose weight the

conventional way—low-fat and high-carb. After her initial success on Atkins (her

story can be found in The New Atkins For a New You), Rebecca found that

something else was needed to lose the remaining weight and keep it off.

Lowering protein and raising fat has done the trick. Rebecca has reached her goal

weight and is maintaining very nicely! She runs a long arm quilting business out

of her home where her customers take home quilts that sometimes smell

suspiciously like bacon. You can read more about how she eats at

This is your brain on Grant Petersen: Every comfortable assumption you have about a subject is turned upside down, and by the time you finish reading you feel challenged, energized, and smarter. In Just Ride—“the bible for bicycle riders” (Dave Eggers, New York Times Book Review)—Petersen debunked the bicycle racing– industrial complex and led readers back to the simple joys of getting on a bike.

In Eat Bacon, Don’t Jog, Petersen upends the last 30 years of conventional health wisdom to offer a clear path to weight loss and fitness. In more than 100 short, compelling directives, Eat Bacon, Don’t Jog shows why we should drop the carbs, embrace fat, and hang up our running shoes, with the latest science to back up its claims.

Diet and Exercise make up the bulk of the book, with food addressed in essays such as “Carbohydrate Primer”—and why it’s okay to eat less kale—and “You’ll Eat Less Often If You Eat More Fat.” The exercise chapters begin with “Don’t Jog” (it just makes you hungry and trains muscle to tolerate more jogging while raising stressors like cortisol) and lead to a series of interval-training exercises and a suite of kettlebell lifts that greatly enhance strength and endurance.

The balance of the book explains the science of nutrition and includes more than a dozen simple and delicious carb-free recipes.

Thirty years ago Grant Petersen was an oat-bran-, egg-white-, lean-meat-eating exercise fanatic who wasn’t in great shape despite all that. Today, at sixty, he is in the best shape of his life with the blood panel to prove it.
