About this ebook

Raine Taylor has one goal – justice for her murdered sister.  She knows Genie's husband strangled her and left her in an alley – Peter had been threatening to kill his wife for years.  The police said there was no proof Peter Northrup killed Genie.  So it was up to Raine to make him pay.

When Detective Connor Donovan answers a call about a trespasser outside Northrup's house, he finds a woman running down the street.  When he tries to stop her, he's left holding her hoodie as she strikes out like a ninja then vanishes like smoke.

Connor quickly realizes Raine is his mysterious trespasser.  Now he has to figure out why she was outside Northrup's house at three A.M.  Raine isn't his usual criminal – she's a schoolteacher who coaches a tae-kwon-do team of under-privileged girls.   And he's wildly attracted to her.

Raine needs to stay away from Connor.  She has a plan to deal with Northrup, and she can't get involved with a cop.  But like two magnets drawing together, she can't resist him.  Can Connor help her find justice for Genie?  Or will her sister's killer claim another victim before they can stop him?

This was my first Margaret Watson book and it won't be my last. I thoroughly enjoyed this book it had a great mix of romance, suspense and angst. This story was well written and well paced, with extremely engaging and likable characters. I really liked both the heroine Raine, and the hero Connor. I haven't read the other books in this series so it can definitely be read as a stand alone. I really enjoyed the inclusion of several members of the Donovan family and can definitely see myself reading the rest of the books in this series. Connor is a Chicago police detective and comes across Raine, when doing his sister a favor and checking out a call of a potential prowler. They have an instant attraction and chemistry but neither are looking for a relationship. Raine is a very strong heroine, but also has a sweet, caring and insecure side. Raine struggles with her feelings for Connor and much like the martial arts expert she is, she fights the attraction. Raine is seeking to find proof that her proof that her brother in law is responsible for her sister Genie's death. Connor has the ability to derail all her plans for revenge. Really Connor might be just what she needs to get the vengeance she is seeking! The book is told from dual point of view, and provides the opportunity to get an understanding of what both the hero and heroine are thinking and feeling. Raine's character is not only extremely likable she is is also very easy to relate to. Their chemistry is off the charts and when they finally give into their attraction it is seriously hot! I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

Instant attraction but cold reception until common goal brings Quinn and Rainne together. Hot sex, caveman over protectiveness. Unrealistic behaviors.

My first impression of this story: WOW! The danger and suspense in this story (Book 4 in the Donovan series) literally blew me away, it was so constant and fast-paced. The romance between Connor, a Chicago Policeman, and Raine, a teacher and Tai Kwan Do instructor for troubled girls in bad neighborhoods, didn’t take a back seat in the suspenseful plot either, but kept pace with the intrigue. I’m not giving any spoilers here so I’ll just say if you like romantic suspense, you need to read this book! I’m going to read the rest of the Donovan series asap.
