I was very impressed by the vanilla cake recipe--however, my decorator's buttercream tasted very much like lard..I was not impressed by it. I followed the recipe exactly as it said, but I found it didn't taste good.

I like the book because when i grow up i want to be a baker and make people the cakes for people like you do and i would love to come vist your baker and show you my skills and you show me some of your skills and then i can come work there for just 3 days....

I was expecting just a normal cookbook with recipes but this book is more like an autobiography of Buddy's life in the bakery. You learn the recipes he learned and work your way up from there just like he did.
