We are back in Montana with the McGrath clan and this time the story belongs to the youngest one, Trinity McGrath. If you read book one, you met her when she was kidnapped and lived a traumatic experience. While she’s still dealing with PTSD, and doesn’t like to be touched, she continues offering her “meals to go” in her shop, and on occasion, delivers to those homebound. During one of her deliveries she finds Mr. Crawford collapsed in his home. As she struggles to help him, his son shows up , at first scaring her, and finally helping her take him to the hospital. Jon Crawford is that man. He has left California and his busy lifestyle in order to returned home to spend time with his father and give his 4 year old daughter the opportunity to grow up in the country. But with his daughter, his ex-girlfriend and the girl’s mother, Steph, comes along. A self-centered woman who cares little for her daughter. As a relationship develops between Jon and Trinity, and Trinity starts opening her heart and letting go of her fears, Steph interferes, at times endangering Jon’s little girl. I have to confess I had a hard time understanding why Jon continued to enable Steph. That said, Trinity was the one that really took charge in helping the little girl flourish. As the final story of the series, it was nice to reunite with the previous characters and see them all getting their HEA. I was entrusted a copy of this book by Netgalley.
