About the author

J. Eurico P. Cyrino (BS, MSc, PhD) is Associate Professor in Fish Culture and Nutrition with the Department of Animal Science, College of Agriculture Luiz de Queiroz - ESALQ, University of Sao Paulo- USP, Piracicaba, SP, Brazil. He is a research scholar of Brazil's National Research Council - CNPq and is accredited scientific adviser to all major Brazilian research funding agencies. He is also scientific editor of Brazilian Society of Aquaculture and Aquatic Biology - AQUABIO. Dominique P. Bureau obtained a B.Sc. (Agronomy) and a M.Sc. (Animal Science) from Laval University and a PhD (Nutritional Sciences) from the University of Guelph (Canada). He is an associate professor with the Dept. of Animal and Poultry Science of the University of Guelph since 2001. He leads a dynamic research program focusing on nutrients (amino acids, fatty acids, glucose, phosphorus) utilization, feed formulation, feedstuff evaluation, and the development of nutritional models of growth and nutrient utilization by fish. B.G. Kapoor was formerly Professor and Head of Zoology in Jodhpur University (India). He has co- edited several books including Sensory Biology of Jawed Fishes New Insights, 2001 (with T.J. Hara); Fish Adaptations, 2003 (with A.L. Val); Catfishes, 2003 (with G. Arratia, M. Chardon and R. Diogo); Fish Chemosenses, 2005 (with Klaus Reutter); Communication in Fishes, 2006 (with F. Foresti); Fish Respiration and Environment, 2007 (with Marisa N. Fernandes, Francisco T. Rantin and Mogens L. Glass); Fish Osmoregulation, 2007 (with Bernardo Baldisserotto and Juan Miguel Mancera); Fish Reproduction, 2008 (with Maria João Rocha and Augustine Arukwe); Fish Life in Special Environments, 2008 (with Philippe Sébert and D.W.
