Ratings and reviews

Great writing causes the story to flow like water. This book ebs and flows then rushes with compassion and excitement for the characters 😀 I felt drawn along the river and tossed with the current at times but left in a very nice satisfying waves of comfort sharing the journey rather than an outsider on the shore.

Although some of the dialogue occasionally becomes a bit formulaic (specifically Wit's) this is a great piece of fantasy. The magic/divinity system strikes the right balance of being detailed enough to seem like more than a plot device, but not so exhaustively catalogued as to make the book read like a DnD manual. The characters are varied and engaging. The book doesn't get five stars only because I think I should reserve that for the likes of Isaac Asimov and Joe Abercrombie.

Such an amazing story!!! Must read for fantasy lovers. Brandon Sanderson is such an amazing writer. These books turn into a mental movie because of Brandon's ability to describe.
