After making rudimentary enquires, Riley’s told Kate’s mother is on a cruise. The information pans out. On the verge of closing the case, Riley is taken by surprise when he receives a subtle threat from his boss, the new Police Commander, to leave Kate’s stepfather alone.

 

Why would the new Commander feel the need to warn him off? With his instincts on alert, Riley digs deeper and discovers not only is Kate’s mother in a wheelchair, she also hates the water.

 

Is Kate telling the truth? Is her stepfather, the former Police Commander, guilty of murder? Or is Riley allowing the sad vulnerability in Kate’s beautiful eyes to cloud his judgement?

I would go liked for there to be one last but triumphant encounter between Kate and Darryl, just seeing him humiliated would go a long way to providing closure.

Chris Taylor is one amazing author. The story line in the book is gripping and the romance is amazing. I absolutely love the way she writes. Thank for making me a reader, if I never read your books I probably would never read in my life. All your collection is amazing and I have read every single book you have launched. ❤️

 Chris Taylor grew up on a farm in north-west New South Wales, Australia. She always had a thirst for stories and recalls writing her first book at the ripe old age of eight. Always a lover of romance and happily-ever-afters, a career in criminal law sparked her interest in intrigue and suspense. For Chris to be able to combine romance with suspense in her books is a dream come true.

Chris is married to Linden and is the mother of five children. If not behind her computer, you can find her doing the school run, taxiing children to swimming lessons, football, ballet and cricket.
