Neil is a storyteller not just an author. One takes you away and leaves you stranded in a reality less real than the tale; the other just writes. Odd makes Norse mythology come alive in a pleasant and accessible way. I'm sure if I read it again, I'll pick out new things to see.

It's a quick read and nice story for children. It's a good bedtime story because it's long enough to take some time reading, but short enough so it wouldn't be much of a slog to get through. And it's smart and fun. One thing Neil Gaiman can definitely do is spin an interesting yarn.

Children's Fairy Tell that is enchanting for the reader and recipent as well. Draws on Viking Myth and adds a few twist to old characters. Well done.
