About this ebook

Like many ambitious New York City teenagers, Craig Gilner sees entry into Manhattan's Executive Pre-Professional High School as the ticket to his future. Determined to succeed at life—which means getting into the right high school to get into the right college to get the right job—Craig studies night and day to ace the entrance exam, and does. That's when things start to get crazy. At his new school, Craig realizes that he isn't brilliant compared to the other kids; he's just average, and maybe not even that. He soon sees his once-perfect future crumbling away.

I bought this book after being forced into dealing with my own issues. It has since then become my go to read for when my depression becomes too much. If you need a book that will make you feel less alone in this emotional roller coaster that we call life, then this is the book for you! As long as you ignore the slight gay bashing at the end, it's pretty perfect.

Ned was such an amazing author. Its Kind Of a Funny Story is relatable and well written. It helped me through depression and helped me discover myself. It's raw and real. It's my absolute favorite novel and it gets harder and harder to accept the fact that such an amazing writer is truly gone. It's a must read for teens and adults everywhere. Each time I read it, it become more profound.

First of all, R.I.P. Ned Vizzini. This book portrays the perspective of a mentally ill teenager with a plan to commit suicide. But his suicidal phase checks him into a mental hospital. He makes new friends, including his girlfriend, and learns that things can get better. If you enjoyed this book, I also recommend reading The Perks Of Being A Wallflower. Its Kind Of A Funny Story is amazing, please read it
