About this ebook

John C. Maxwell, #1 New York Times bestselling author, helps readers take the first steps to living a life that matters inIntentional Living.

We all have a longing to be significant. We want to make a contribution, to be a part of something noble and purposeful. But many people wrongly believe significance is unattainable. They worry that it's too big for them to achieve. That they have to have an amazing idea, be a certain age, have a lot of money, or be powerful or famous to make a real difference.

The good news is that none of those things is necessary for you to achieve significance and create a lasting legacy. The only thing you need to achieve significance is to be intentional. And to do that, all you need to do is start. You can't make an impact sitting still and doing nothing. Every major accomplishment that's ever been achieved started with a first step. Sometimes it's hard; other times it's easy, but no matter what, you have to do it if you want to get anywhere in life.

In Intentional Living, John Maxwell will help you take that first step, and the ones that follow, on your personal path through a life that matters.

My name is Colleen M. Johnson and I am currently attending Salem International University Online. I was recently nominated to join The National Society for Leadership and Success (NSLS). John C. Maxwell was invited to be a part of the 2015 - 2016 Broadcast Series. In order to be inducted into the Hall of Fame, so to speak--a student such as myself has to listen to a least three speaker broadcasts and answer 5 questions and submit the answers to their advisor for review. There were 5 things that John C. Maxwell said one must do in order to live a life of intentional living: 1) value people--add value to people--affirm their self-esteem. 2) think about adding value to people. 3) look for ways to add value to people. 4) do things that add value to people. 5) encourage others to add value to people--make a difference in other people's lives. I can truthfully say that I have been doing these things for the better part of my life--I will be 65 years old on April 14, 2016! And I will spend the rest of my life looking for answers to the next 3 questions: 1) What do you cry about? 2) What do you sing about? 3) What do you dream about? All of my family and my friends are trying to understand why I waited until I was almost 65 years old to return to college? Because I was too busy working and raising a family--my one and only daughter has a Master's Degree in Public Health from West Chester University! I am studying towards a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science and I plan to return to the workplace before I turn 70 years of age. I plan to read a few more of Mr. Maxwell's books particularly: 1) The 10th Anniversary Edition of the 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership 2) Make today Count and 3) How Successful People Think. I would highly recommend this author to young people because he has something important to say to you. The sooner you get started on the right path, the sooner you will make a major contribution to the world.
