Sears pretends to be neutral and unbiased, but in reality overstates risks of vaccines and understates risks of diseases. He makes things seem more equivocal than they really are. Additionally since publishing this book he's become much more stridently anti-vaccine and he's had his license suspended for inappropriate medical exemptions from vaccines.

Dr. Sears provides all of the information you need to make your own decisions relating to vaccines and your child. Most importantly, he has opened up a channel of communication between doctors and parents by giving parents a voice through education. I read this book and took it, along with my notes and proposed schedule, to my pediatrician. I felt empowered having an honest discussion with her about my concerns and it was due to this read.
