Google maps trys to kill me when I have to drive in the woods as the app cannot figure out rural roads. It tries to send you every wrong way or it sizzles in confusion. MapQuest however, never fails to safely bring me to my destination out in the rural areas I have to drive to. MapQuest doesnt have the name recognition but it is a vastly superior product for navigating.

I really appreciate the options to avoid certain types of roads. I can't tell you how much I hate going through back roads when trying to go to a big city. Google maps only seems to offer the quickest route, which is all fine and well if you have an off-road vehicle or are used to going back roads, but if you're from the city and aren't used to it, MapQuest is probably your best option. The options to avoid gravel roads AKA back roads is one of the best things I've seen on a GPS app.

Almost as detailed as Google, but not as invasive. Mapquest let's you dive and does not keep changing directions to save only 5 minutes like Google. Mapquest gives you choices and then let's you pick the route. Update: wish more details for food choices. Don't need all the convenience stores as food. Also, turn off construction. One see where construction is, don't need them on the map.
