The app works or it doesn't. Rakuten in general is great, especially with the desktop add-on. The app only works correctly sometimes. I've reinstalled and cleared cache and it still only partly works. Sometimes I can't get into any profile/account info. Sometimes the biometrics don't work. Currently I can't see any history, it shows my last trip was 2023 (which is not true.)

Thank you for this feedback. The biometrics function is a feature of your phone. Once activated, our app may take advantage of it to verify your identity when accessing certain parts of our app. You can find a complete list of all Shopping Trips under the My Account (the person icon) section. It used to be good. I've been using it since Ebates time. It used to have more stores that you can get cash back from. Now it seems they're slowly dwindling down to just high end or more expensive stores. The usual ones I go to are no longer available in their app. Half the stuff that's left that I still shop at don't work through their app. If I click on them, it gives me an error & doesn't take me to the website. So I had to go to the actual website then claim my rebates.

We're sorry you have experienced this issue with our app. We typically see issues like this when our Members have any ad or Internet traffic features or services active on their device or through their Data or WiFi connection. Great idea, terrible execution. Possibly deceptive trade practices. I'll add to the chorus that even purchasing through the app often doesn't give any cash back, and I need to say I'm missing cash back for obviously eligible purchases. I hope regulators look into this behavior. Rakuten is collecting a lot of our data in return for cash back, but they're not holding up their end. They're also motivating people to make purchases for cash back, then don't give it to you
