In order to keep digital maps in ideal shape, real-life data that allows for the depiction of live information (ie traffic jams, road closures, ideal routes, etc) are desirable.
After the successful launch of TRIMA, which currently has over 19 million downloads in Japan, GeoSmile was created as the global version of the application.

Ratings and reviews

Way too slow to build points and step tracker doesnt always work. I easily cover anywhere between 8000 and 12000 step per day at work. I've been at this for 6 months and only have 26000 points. The ads don't always load either so you miss out on thousands of points. Couple that with the fact you need 50000 minimum for only $5 in rewards and this app is just not worth it. There are other apps you can earn more and faster.

I had liked that it gave points for traveling as well as steps. I've tried a couple of walking apps and had liked that this one was different. But after the recent update I haven't been able to access the app. A screen pops up saying the authentication has failed due to connection error. There's nothing wrong with my connection so I don't know what's wrong with it. The only thing I was unsure about was that when I tried to link Fitbit said it was unsafe

A lot of the ads are super glitchy and you have to force stop the app a few times to get it to work but if you're watching the ads, the miles add up quick and I've been getting 1 to 2 $10 gift cards a month like that which is fantastic. So if you don't mind the glitches then it's totally worth it Edit: taking away a star because the app has not been recording steps for days now.
