Not compatible with Republic Wireless I liked this app. It was fun running around stores to collect kicks, which most users can exchange for gift cards. However, you need to have a supported wireless carrier to redeem your kicks. I had accumulated over $10 in kicks before I discovered this. The support team was friendly and sounded like they really looked into whether it was possible, but they found that it was not. Shopkick is not compatible with Republic Wireless because it's phone numbers are similar to the ones provided by Google Voice.
Just Too Easy This is an easy to use app that do not make you jump through hoops to get points (kicks). When I'm out shopping, I may as well get kicks while in the store. These gift cards come in handy and right when I need it!
Won't make you rich, but easy and fun to use Crash issues from older versions have been resolved - now generally runs smoothly and seamlessly. Occasional store that won't trigger walk-in kicks, but I expect that is more on account of the individual store than the app/developers. It's pretty easy to make a few pennies here and there, and if you shop (and/or buy) a lot at the participating retailers, the earnings can add up pretty quickly. This past year I earned ~$50 in gift cards through the app with what I'd consider pretty minimal effort.
Love it.. BUT My boyfriend & I use this app daily. We love it! We've both cashed out for $25 gift card each already. I continue to use it. BUT I hope more vendors get on board & more items to scan cone along soon!! Not as fun without lots to find& scan/buy!
Used to love it I loved Shopkicks and have referred several friends. However off and on for the last few weeks I've had connectivity issues and today forget it. I drove several miles from my home JUST to get my kicks from a half dozen or so stores, I couldn't connect! I came home and continued to get the oops message so I uninstalled and reinstalled and NOW it won't connect at all! I don't have any problems with any other apps or my browser! NOT HAPPY!!!
Users Beware This app requires access to a ridiculous amount of things. I'm a long time user but will be stopping now. (It has access to directly call phone numbers, sms, take pictures and videos, record audio, gps location, modify your contacts, read your contacts, activity recognition, modify usb contents, find accounts on device, full network access, bluetooth, run at startup). I mean if you don't mind fine ignore it, but I personally don't think it needs access to any of this at all. I will no longer be using this.
