About this app

*** Announcement ***
We're proud to announce the release of our new SDR application called Spectrum SDR - you might want to give it a try some time.

This application is about having a bit of fun with those amazing little RTL-SDR dongles, whilst listening to HAM radio conversations. It's nice and easy to use so why not give it a try?

Bands:
144 - 148 MHz (2m)
150 - 174 MHz
420 - 450 MHz (70cm)
421 - 470 MHz

Please feel free to request other NFM bands.

There are two ways to use the application. The first is to use an RTL-SDR dongle and an SDR driver, available from Google Play. Selecting the Driver option in the application menu will open the driver page on Google Play. The second way is to connect to an instance of rtl_tcp running on a remote computer, most likely over WiFi. You will need a good network connection for this to work reliably so use of the driver is probably the preferred way to use the application in most cases.

We hope you enjoy using this application.

Update. Changed phone an now the I have to pay again to remove ads. Nice to see that url can be inserted. Would be nice to be able to hear all of the bands in one, and save presets in one. Also a scanner feature could be nice. Should be able to but a domain name where I put up for no local server.I thought 0.59€ was for both squelch unlocking and ads.

Hi, thanks for review. We would have thought the purchase would work on new device if you are logged in to same Google Play account. Maybe it's also per-device. Unfortunately that is all handled by Google and is outside our control. The URL is assumed to be an internet host, not a local host name. Scanning is not really an option I'm afraid 😀

Needs work. Needs filter to clean up the distortion on signals using CTCSS. Also needs a scan feature (as do all the similar programs from this author). I'd be willing to pay for it. (EDIT: Yes, I'm suggesting a high pass filter on the audio to remove CTCSS tones")

UPDATE: if we add the filter, would you be able to test it for us? If you email us at support@knowleconsultants.com then we can keep you up to date with progress and you can give us feedback.

Works as advertised. I also use more complex apps, but love the simplicity and purpose-driven design. Would like to have the option to have the favorites span the different bands, if possible, but works fine as is!
