Enhance your cycling experience with the Hammerhead Companion App! Access your Android phone’s calls, texts, and notifications on your Karoo, as well as upload rides, sync routes, and much more, all without the need for Wi-Fi.

As other have said, it's a terrible app that really lets the device down, and will see me return the device and go back to Garmin shortly. It drops the connection with the phone randomly and then won't re-pair despite having followed all the knowledge base articles. Waiting on customer support but even if they can sort it I shouldn't have to waste my time trying to sort it out - it's just not good enough.

This app is no longer compatible with Samsung S23 (and probably other Samsung phones), so you can't receive emails, etc, notifications on the Karoo. The Companion app doesn't appear in the app notifications list at all, and under the app settings, it shows "all notifications from this app are blocked" Other apps have also had this problem and been fixed by their developers (eg, Sure Petcare), who noted that they had to fix a permission issue with Android. Shame because it used to work well.

The companion app doesn't allow me to turn notifications ON from the app settings, the field is greyed out, also it doesn't appear in the app list under notiffications. This suggests the app is not requesting the correct permissions. I receive call notifications but nothing else. It used to work with the Karoo 2 but it doean't with the Karoo (3).

What’s new

Introducing live tracking auto-share
- Riders can now add email contacts to automatically receive a live tracking link when a ride starts. Auto-share can be setup via the Companion App settings. This is available for both new Karoo and K2. Live tracking requires internet connectivity via Companion App or hotspot/SIM card.
- We've added the ability to share a 24-hour link. This link will expire after 24 hours.
- We've added the ability to toggle live tracking on/off via the Companion App.
