This is convenient for capturing night views or water flowing scenes which need long-exposure, or macro shooting in which you need to avoid to directly touch the camera.
*3 Models that support PlayMemories Camera Apps can use this feature by installing "Smart Remote Control" (in-camera app) on your camera in advance.

- Even with cameras that do not have a location information linkage function, it is possible to add location information acquired by your smartphone to the photos saved on your smartphone during remote shooting.

I have been using this app for quite a few years. One major problem this app has is lack of some of the desktop features. Such as being able to USB tether. Chromebooks don't have a desktop application for alpha cameras. It would be nice for the app to have more features which will allow Chromebooks to have the same experience as the windows and mac versions.

A very basic app that seemed to be done in rush by some graduates or interns. For the quality of their photo cameras, I had much bigger expectations. I would definitely love to see a professional product (even I would pay for it) rather then this joke. At least please add the capability to focus by touching on part of the image or to be able to move the focus point from the phone. After the update it stopped working altogether. it does not work anymore!!!

This is just appalling! In the previous version I could connect to my phone and transfer photos - it was frustrating but worked most of the time with occasionally dropping the WiFi. Remote control of the camera - while basic, worked. Now the WiFi connection drops after a few seconds of use every single time on both the photo transfer and the remote control. This is totally unusable!!! It seems that there is zero budget and zero effort put into developing your apps. I'll not buy Sony again.

What’s new

- Improved the issue where the app would terminate abnormally on certain smartphones.
