FEDERAL LAW PROHIBITS ANYONE BUT REGISTERED USERS WITH HEARING LOSS FROM USING INTERNET PROTOCOL (IP) CAPTIONED TELEPHONES WITH THE CAPTIONS TURNED ON. IP Captioned Telephone Service may use a live operator. The operator generates captions of what the other party to the call says. These captions are then sent to your phone. There is a cost for each minute of captions generated, paid from a federally administered fund.

I love being able to get real time captioning. This app does an excellent job. The app works by forwarding your calls to their HQ, then calling your phone. The problem is the dropped calls and the time between when the call comes in and when I am able to actually speak, people hung up. I missed important calls that I couldn't call back. A dropped call from England, which luckily I was able to return, cost me $60 since I don't have International calling. I had to remove this app.

This app WAS great. About 2 months in, the captions started to become so delayed and inconsistent that it was just garbled letters. I tried switching from AI to an actual person, but there was never one available—didn't matter the hour of the day. I was starting to miss calls and when a few would come thru, the person on the other end couldn't hear me. Now I'm not receiving calls at all and only found out when i saw i had 20 voicemails from the people who had actually left one.

This app worked great... at first. Then there came the glitches. Transcriptions of calls became more and more inaccurate or difficult to parse. I am HoH so I rely on this app to get me through phone conversations. But also, when I wanted to keep out phone numbers that I didn't have in my contacts from calling me, it blocked ALL of them! Then, I'm not even notified till it's too late! Now I can't seem to fix it. I really need this but I might have to drop it if I'm not getting my regular calls.
