Ratings and reviews

New version has closed captioning on by default for live broadcast with no apparent way to turn it off. Please add a switch to settings. Thanks. Also, captioning is way behind video which makes it that much more disruptive and annoying. When I switch to view NHK live broadcast in browser, it is OK. No closed captioning in browser view. Just a problem in the Android app.

I absolutely love NHK news and their shows. However, since their update a few months ago, I'm unable to cast to my TV via Chromcast, which is so unfortunate. I would be watching so much more if I was still able to cast. My initial review before the change would be absolutely 5 stars. But since the update, I can only give 2. I can't watch as often, because without the chromecast feature, my battery on my phone drains substantially faster than with casting. Please fix so we can cast again!

I love using the NHK app especially to watch sumo. Some features i would like to see. 1. A login account where i can favorite a show or program so i can go to all on demand episodes quickly instead of searching for it. I.e Trails to Oishi or Grand Sumo. 2. have the videos pop out in a mini player when lowering the app screen instead of it closing the video 3. having videos resume from where i left off instead of playing from the begining.
