2½ (wouldn't it be nice if play store had 4 or 6 stars so u can rate in the middle?) The app sends & receives messages with photos. It works. But it's buggy, & freezes. I'm usually force-quitting & clearing cache at least once per session. & you're SOL if u, by years of habit, hit that back button on ur phone, as it will with no warning take u back to the start screen to having to go through the rigmarole of signing in again. An update that fixes these things would have me giving 5 stars.

this app doesn't work in all facilities please check your facility before you purchase credits to see what your facility recommends that you use to contact your loved ones it was very slow to find out it didn't work out for us. but we did get a full refund of what we paid it took longer than expected to realize that it was not working out. the first letter bounced around the system for about three weeks before we had it returned. and a second letter was already in process by the time we noticed

I like the app a lot. I was able to find the person I was looking for so easily and we've already sent a couple messages back and forth. I just wish I didn't have to log in so frequently. Leaving Penmate open and navigating to another app usually requires me to log back in when I pull Penmate up again. Sometimes I'm randomly asked to log in again even though I haven't even left the app.
