Standard Notes is a secure and private notes app. It syncs your notes securely across all your devices, including your Android devices, Windows, iOS, Linux, and Web.

Private means your notes are end-to-end encrypted, so only you can read your notes. Even we can't read the contents of your notes.

Simple means it does one job and does it well. Standard Notes is a safe and lasting place for your life's work. Our focus is making it easy to write notes wherever you are and syncing them with encryption to all your devices.

Standard Notes is completely open-source, which means when we say your notes are encrypted with industry-leading XChaCha-20 encryption, and that only you can read your notes, you don't have to take our word for it. Our code is open to the world to audit.

We made Standard Notes simple because longevity is important to us. We want to make sure we're here, protecting your notes, for the next hundred years. You shouldn't have to find a new notes app every year.

Ratings and reviews

Not a fan. First, it doesn't play well with 1Password. There is a button for Google Keep but it's not easy. I had to search online to find it is a manual process. And once the import was done there were many cryptic errors, most items were duplicated, and pictures were orphaned from corresponding notes. It ended up being a huge pain and mess. Starting from scratch may be a better experience but I'm taking a pass. If importing from Keep is an advertised feature it shouldn't be such a cluster.

I absolutely love this app. I lost someone very dear to me a few days ago and needed an outlet that was secure. After some research, I tried this app. I love that I can lock everything. Google Keep was my go-to, but it's still lacking protection. The synchronization between my devices is amazing. Thank you for this incredible app that is saving my sanity until I can snag an appointment with my therapist.

May be good but for the almost necessary premium features like to do lists and other options it is $4 a month which seems quite high for a simple note taking app. I am uninstalling and trying several others that are completely free. I wish google would force apps to give their premium upgrade prices because many free apps are lousy without updating to premium. Like this one for example. Too bad. Too often my time is wasted downloading apps that are lousy without paying a bunch of money.
