TAP is your ticket to ride transit in greater Los Angeles! It is accepted on 27 transit systems including LA Metro, providing a vast network of buses and trains.

1. Fare capping status feature
-View your LA Metro fare capping progress in “Card Info.”
2. Promo code enhancement
- Add a new virtual card to your phone and redeem a promo code in one transaction.
- Supports LA Metro’s GoPass program participants and students using Long Beach Transit.
3. Zero-dollar checkout enhancement
- When you purchase a discounted fare product or redeem a promo code and the shopping cart net total is $0, no payment method is required to check out.

Ratings and reviews

Every single time I unlock my phone, the app opens itself and attempts to scan. I would uninstall it, but I just loaded my latest TAP card onto it. So I'll have to at least keep it until the money runs out and I can get a new physical card. Hopefully this bug gets fixed. edit: I logged out then logged back in, and now all my money in my account is gone. I just lost $25. Thanks, y'all

This app is highly frustrating to use. A seamless integration that allows adding a TAP card directly to Google Wallet (similar to how Clipper works in San Francisco) would be a much more user-friendly and efficient solution. In addition, it is currently not possible for tourists to register with a mobile number from another country, which makes the app practically unusable.

This app is more annoying to use then it being convenient as an android user. I am not sure if the card is more useful on an iPhone. - SUPER annoying issue - Every time a phone updates you need to sign out and sign in so that it doesn't lock your digital card. I literally got 10 digital cards with balances on them now. Ok sure I could try and remember to sign out, but updates happen during the night. I got cards I cannot access on here. This is per the Tap customer care.
