Instant Heart Rate is continuously rated as the world’s best mobile heart rate measurement app and is trusted by Stanford’s leading cardiologists for use in clinical trials.

Measure accurately your pulse and heart beat zone with your heart rate & health monitor after sleeping or during workouts & training. Instant Heart Rate doesn't require heart rate straps. Instant Heart Rate functions similarly to pulse oximeters, detecting change in blood flow in your finger to provide accurate heart beat measurements.

• Measure your heartbeat, pulse, BPM and heart zone accurately in <10 seconds
• Track key indicators of your heart health and cardiovascular health including your resting heart rate
• See when your body is under stress and discover what works to help you relax
• See your PPG pulse graph (similar to ECG / EKG / Cardiograph) - see every heart beat and your heart rate in beats per minute
• Cardio workout monitoring to optimize exercise and track progress pre- and post-workout. Use HR as cardiovascular measurement.
• Monitor your heart rate training zones (Rest, Fat Burn, Cardio, and Peak)
• No strap or dedicated hardware required
• Share heart data with family, friends, and your doctor

How to use Instant Heart Rate, heartbeat counter, to measure your heartbeat accurately?

1. Place finger on phone’s camera
2. Hold finger steady as the camera detects changes in blood circulation in your fingertip
3. Don't press your finger too hard and see your heart rate reading in seconds

How should you use Instant Heart Rate?

• For accurate measurement, Instant Heart Rate should be used daily to measure heartbeat or pulse.
• Tag your heart rate reading for more insight into your heart health and to track your resting heart rate, exercise heart rate, and more

What is a normal heart rate or heartbeat?

• According to American Heart Association (AHA) and the Mayo Clinic, a resting heart beat typically ranges from 60 to 100 beats per minute (BPM).
• However, many studies indicate that, generally, the lower your resting heart rate, the better.
• Heart rate can be affected by stress, anxiety, depression, emotions, activity level, fitness level, body composition, and medication use.
• Knowing your heart rate is important heart-health gauge and cardiovascular metric.
• Heart rate variability is important in measuring stress on your body.

So disappointed in the changes made to this app. I've used it for years now and it's been the best, until recently. Besides having to log in, the most recent update has made the app inaccurate and now takes ages to find a rhythm. The little heart icon that used to blink in sync with yours, which was convenient because it gave a visual to show accuracy, was helpful if you were checking your pulse along with the app is gone. The auto start is kind of annoying too. Cardiograph>Instant Heart Rate.

This has been one of my favorite apps for years but I'm not creating an account (now required) just to take my pulse. One reviewer pointed out they got rid of the pulse animation that syncs up with your heartbeat. That was how I would check to make sure the app is accurate on a certain phone! I would verify that it's gone... But that would require creating a login.

More accurate than other camera based heart rate apps I've tried. A great feature is that it shows you the view through your camera lens so you can see if your finger placement is right. However, the ads in the free version are atrocious. You often get a full screen ad right after the measurement, with earsplittingly loud audio. Also connection to Google Fit doesn't work. The phone blocks the app saying it tried to access sensitive data in my Google account, though I granted all permissions.
