It's alright, decent design. I was on the waitlist specifically because the imessage feature appealed to me, but they didn't end up implementing it - so no point keeping it installed. Great for congregating messages, but that was not the main reason I installed - good if you don't want to open a bunch of different apps to go through your unread messages. The ability to self host is appreciated.

We have disabled the iMessage connection due to reliability issues caused by recent Apple blocks. We do not have an ETA for its return. However, please keep an eye on the Beeper Updates chat for future announcements.

I love the idea, but loads of features are missing. Especially on the Instagram bridge, photos sent from Instagram don't work (and you also can't sent them), message effects are nonexistant, if someone sents you a story or generally anything not supported, you'll have a hard time trying to figure out. I'm not saying that the app is not good, it's amazing. But there are just so many features missing, making it impossible to use it without having the main app installed on your phone too.
Hey there! Could you please reach out to us at help@beeper.com? Happy to take a look at this.

It's a bit rough around the edges, sure, but this app lets me use Instagram as a messaging service (annoyingly unavoidable for me) without the need to have the app installed. On the whole it's very usable, and I really like having it as an aggregator for all of my messages, since I can then turn all notifications on/off with a single click. I regularly switch between starting conversations on native apps and replying on Beeper, which is remarkably smooth as well.
