I'm a refugee from Signal. So, I have been using Textra for a while & it's time for an appraisal. I can honestly say that the migration from Signal, into using Textra for SMS, to communicate with non-Signal users, was completely painless. Everything works, as expected. I haven't encountered any problems. All credit to the developer(s). Well done! My only wish is that some other Android apps worked as well.

UPDATE: Got a quick response to my original review and they sent me an email with easy instructions. Thanks Textra! I love the Textra app. However, one feature I miss that the app built into my phone has is that you can search through individual messages. I can search through ALL the messages at once, but not single messages. So if I type the word "address" it shows up in 50 messages. If I could search individual messages as well as all of them at once, I would be thrilled!

I'm really liking this texting app. I switched from Google Messages and the experience has been flawless. Messages are sent quickly with no lag. I'd like to see the ability to search for any links sent or received rather than having to scroll through a thread hoping you come across one. Like, having a "links" button to retrieve all links sent and received. Media is shown but links would be nice. Also, to search a particular thread from someone rather than all messages would be nice too.
