Edit: Works amazing on Exynos S8 with dual SIM support. Still highly recommended. Changing LED colors is cool as hell. Silence on vibrate issue resolved, it seems to have been a system setting on Zenfone 2. Thanks for the reply, Delicious Inc! Works well on Zenfone 2 ZE551ML. Customizing per contact notifs is a godsend. Customizing in general is amazing. Marshmallow support for dual SIM is great. Can't seem to figure out how to silence even vibrate when on Do Not Disturb mode tho. Still highly recommended.

I haven't used Android stock SMS apps for years. Been through many but for me Textra is the best. Much cleaner interface and less bloated than others I've used. I like the customisation options. This is available on others but many give too many options so you can spend hours customising. Textra is much simpler with nothing unnecessary. I love send delay. No more accidental texts! Hits the nail on the head really.

Definitely the best texting app on the market. I'm surprised why it doesn't have a higher rating. It's smooth, beautiful and very customizable. However there is always room for improvement. In whatsapp, theres an option for choosing a background wallpaper behind conversations. I think you should add that option too, it would be nice for us to choose the background rather than being stuck with black or white. In this latest update, the font colour is now black. I think you should give us the option between having it black or white, as some of us liked white better.

Love the customization it offers, but why does no texting app include an archive option!? Can you guys please add this functionality? Edit: can we get some type of organizational options? Like archiving or folders or something to make the messages not look so cluttered? The OCD side of me dies everytime I open my texts, lol.

This app is super customizable. You can change so many things about how your messaging looks. I've been using this app as my messenger for a long time and it has been amazing. The quick reply feature is really useful and something that makes this app stand out over the stock SMS app. After using this as my messaging app, there is no going back to anything else. Half the time it does not play my text message sound. Went back to Google messenger and that's working fine, waiting for fix. Normally love this app! UPDATE: All is good now! Only thing is an option to change the default enter key to an emoji key, rather than having to hold down the enter button.

Kindly email help@textra.me for help. Thanks. Good text management app. I like the options for managing different conversations and the overall look and functionality. I'd give five stars if one problem could be fixed. When I attempt to tap a conversation, it moves down because the ad takes a moment to load. Why not just keep a persistent ad place at the top?

Appreciate the feedback on advert placement, we are looking at various options in this respect, please bear with us. Thanks Kelsey. I have only recently started using Textra after getting tired of Google's default messenger and I'm glad that I made the switch. This app shows how customization is to be done right. The app is fast and it manages to look good while doing so. I'm not a heavy SMS user, but this app is a breath of fresh air and works flawlessly for me. Kudos to the team! Keep up the good work!

Thanks Ninad and welcome to Textra SMS! I've been using Textra for a while now and purchased to become a pro user. Everything was great, absolutely 5 stars until the latest version 3.35, but now you cannot move the app to your SD card. This is a deal breaker for me. It's been the best app for customizing, views, quick reply, attachments and of course on previous versins the ability to move to my SD card. I've deleted the app and reluctantly went back to Hangout.

Pls email us your issue at help@textra.me for help, thanks. I've used this app for over a year and generally love it, but recently it's been closing text notifications without me touching it or anything, which sucks because they won't show up and I'll miss messages quite frequently unless I remember to go check and see if it has closed it. It will mark the message as read so I won't notice I've missed something. Please fix this issue, I don't want to have to change texting apps.

I was really bummed out when i received the message from hangouts saying that I needed to use another messaging app. I didn't want to use my phone's stock app and I wasn't liking any of the other ones available for download... That is, until I found textra. This app is amazing. It's everything that I could want in a messaging app. It's very customizable and I really enjoy that. It's so much better than Hangouts ever was. I love it and I plan to continue using it on this phone and any other phone from here on out. I have absolutely no complaints

Million thanks for your kind review and 5 stars Carlos. Enjoy Textra! I enjoyed how customizable it is. And it works very smoothly. The downside is it handles media poorly. Gifs received just show as pictures, even if you click on them; and after a certain number of pictures received, they start coming in as small and black and white. I am not sure why this occurs, but I found it irritating. But if you don't send or receive a lot of media and you are particular about your texting preferences, this is app is perfect for you.

From simple group messages and lots of thoughtful customization option to a really slick theme, it just checks every box for me. Outstanding!
I'm not sure why all SMS apps look like they are made with windows 95 in mind. Very primitive to the eye and just very unappealing. This is one the reasons an iPhone looks more appealing than Android. However here comes an app that should be standard in every phone. I love this app it also saves battery life making your screen black and setting your own colors is brilliant. I love the font set up and it really makes me feel that this phone is more of a flagship than the LG standard text app. Android really needs to just make your app the standard.

This is truly a great text messaging app. The only problem I have is that while I am in a text conversation the app will not notify me when the person texts me. Unless I'm sitting there looking at the screen I cannot tell if they text me again. I have left people hanging quite a few times because the app will not let me know. Textra, is there anyway to fix this.

See Textra - Settings - Customize Notifications - In Conversation Screen - Play Notification Sound. Perfectly Customizable and fun to use. Of all the messaging apps available for Android Ive always rushed to install Textra on my new my devices. I love being able to customize conversations I have with different ppl, Even the notification icon color that appears on the Notification bar can be specified for a specific person, which is great for my VIP contacts. Also, Textra regularly offers updates that improve and build upon previous builds, the latest versions of Android, works on Android Wear and has even added support to view the app in all its glory on newer mobile devices, like on the S8 with uncommon aspect Ratios.

Thanks for the updated 5 stars Nero! It's a great app, works better than stock and other texting apps I have tried. My issue is with their "pay for ad-free". I gladly paid when that option first came out and was very happy for a long time but recently ads have started showing up (as text messages). That is unacceptable to lie to your customers like that. Until the issue is fixed, my 1 star will remain. This seems fixed for a while. Updating my review to 4 stars. Still really liking this app!

In my opinion, the best SMS app. Haven't used ALL of the features, but it has everything I need and more. I literally had to search for something to improve. Feedback noted with thanks. I love this app! I love the fact that you can customize all the conversations. Everyone is a different color for me. Also love the fact that you can have iPhone emojis on an Android device mainly because of how they would show up different on the different devices so I know exactly what is being sent. lt worked great until the most recent up date and it will not send my MMS messages! I would select the image to send and it would have a black box on it. I send a TON of mms messages and pictures and this is not something I'm happy about and would love it to be fixed soon! Thanks!
THEY LISTENED PEOPLE. I asked in a previous comment for a white primary theme, and it was here in the next update! Great app with a really smooth and clean to use user interface. Material design looks great and has lots of customizability. My only gripe with this app is that when there's a word that goes on to the next line in a text, there's a huge space that this app leaves to the outside of the text instead of just moving the chat bubble towards the edge of the screen. Hopefully this is an easy fix that can be done soon. Also, notifications seem to disappear when the chat is open in the background and your phone is locked. I have to go to the homepage or exit the chat page if I want to be able to see notifications from that person.

Thanks for the updated 5 stars Mustafa. Everything about Textra is awesome except when it comes to sharing pictures and then it is questionable at best. Some days they go smoothly all day. Some days they do not go at all. Most of the time it is hit and miss all day long. If sending pictures was reliable, even if we knew we could only send four or less every time i would bump my rating to 5 stars.

Wanted something customizable. Read reviews on several apps over a period of days and decided to try this one. I love everything about it! Especially color and bubble shape options! Not sure why I've never tried anything else before. Using free version. Ads are not a big deal. I just ignore them like I do TV commercials.

Please ass the option to disable, or modify. One of the Big attractions of Textra has always been Options, not forced settings. Please add a setting!! Thank you, and keep up the good work.

Why is developer so resistant to that? Would be a true 5 star app then. Other than that, sleek design and reliable, dependable sms app.

I tried about 10 different ones, this one seems to have gone the most right way. Clean, really fast start (good for slower phones), and all the features I need. I don't buy much apps, only those that I value as they make my life easier, and this one is one of them.

It's my only messaging app. O really like how you can customize literally everything. They really did think about the consumer on this one! Buy the premium version, you won't regret it.
I've been using Textra for a month now, amd I can say with confidence that it is far superior to Samsungs stock messaging app. I love how customizable it is! My main reason for stitching was a bug in the stock app that would cause it to exit the app when pressing the back key. Textra has only one bug that I've found, which resulted from my meddling with settings. In a data conserving gesture, I activated a setting that downloaded mms over wifi, when available. Yet because of poor internet the messages weren't coming through. This is a minor bug, because you won't experience it unless you modify the settings. Overall a wonderful app, worth the price of a cup of coffee, and if you don't want to pay, the ads arent bad either.

Literally the greatest app I've come across in a long time. After the recent update for my phone, messages were not very contrasted, and very bland, but after I got this I loved it. And you might get nervous when the "no ad period is over" message appears, but there's only one that just sits on the top of recently messaged. I love this

A very kind review Andrew, thanks heaps and enjoy Textra. Really like this over the standard Android message app. It's also miles better looking and much faster than any other third party text app. Love the schedule feature. Would have given 5 stars, but the notification aspect is a little flimsy. Sometimes it tells me I have a text on the lock screen, sometimes it doesn't and then I see one waiting for me in my tray. I've tried tinkering with the settings, but it makes no difference. Seems like an important but easy feature, can't see why it has so much trouble. Every other text app handles notifications with ease.
Useful features I never even would have thought of continue to be added, all without making it excessively bulky! If I *had* to come up with a complaint, I guess I'd say more customization would always be nice... but it's certainly not lacking by any means. This is really everything I could ask for in a texting app! Looks nice, works great, and it's lightweight! I'd give it 6 stars if I could.

I was not happy with my phones stock app. I also wanted to get better text notifications for my moto 360 2nd gen watch. I do wish that my contacts and my picture could show on the conversation page. I also wish I could customize my background. Other than that it is next to perfect. Hope my suggestions are on your list of updates.

Thanks heaps for your update and 5 stars Diego. Enjoy Textra. So far loving this app. I most like the customization w/the more than adequate rainbow of colors to choose the look YOU want. Using it with Bitmoji was a little shaky at first; however, seems it's doing well now. Not used long enough to assess full potential, but I will!
Update: Almost never do I feel the need to write a second review for an app. But Textra just continues to get better and better. Devs are always adding new USEFUL features without ever compromising the usability and stability of the app. Excellent, excellent work!

Simple, streamlined, and efficient. Loved it so much paid to become a pro user. Good job developers! Would love to incorporate sms backup like in Chomp without using app they recommended.
