Ratings and reviews

I used Avast Mobile Security for over a decade, and used to be it was the best free mobile security solution available for Android, inclusively offering services for free that other apps only offered in the paid version… I wonder what went wrong? It started losing features a couple of years ago, and with the latest "update", most services that other apps offer for free are now only available in the paid version =( My loyalty lasted as long as it could, but time has finally come to say goodbye…

As a user of the free version, I am all willing to go through five to ten minutes of ads in order to support the application. However, you got to give us a safe way to close the ads: It is infuriating, after spending some time watching the ad play itself out, that clicking on what was supposed to be the button for closing the ad, instead opens some link in your web browser. That is very vexing given the risks of opening unknown, unwanted links on the internet, particularly from an antivirus app.

I wish the app would stop asking for a rating. That said, I've used Avast, exclusively, for my antivirus and maintenance needs for well over a decade. Not only has Avast unfailingly safeguarded my equipment, but the features available in the premium version have really helped to keep my hardware operating at like-new efficiency. Update, a couple years later: yup, still awesome.
