I like the concept of the app. Learning words in action has always been a favored approach of mine. The problem is, however, that half the time neither the sound nor video clips load properly. I hope this will be improved in future releases. Edit: The last update improved clip performance. Still, particularly during end-of-lesson reviews, clips refuse to load even when they played just fine during the lesson.

Using for Japanese. This is a useful tool, although translations are often weird. It's better if you can translate the sentence yourself from the word for word translations below the sentence. Tapping the words often gives an irrelevant translation. There are occasional spelling mistakes, too, particularly in the furigana. I think the app relies on AI translation.

The premise behind this app is great, and I would have no problem paying for it if it were more polished. But, there are way too many mistakes within the app, especially considering the price. This definitely feels like a beta version of the app that, at least for Korean, is relying too much on the user base to actually get correct audio. If it ever fixes these issues, I would be more than willing to pay for it.

Hey Crystal. We have editors working on it right now, super sorry for the mistakes in app! Are you a more advanced learner? Would love to chat with you, see which places still have mistakes, and give you a free month (should give us time to fix stuff). jason@umiapp.co
