Not reviewing the journalism here. The app continues to dissapoint. Loads slowly, doesn't respond to taps, scrolling is a disaster. When moving from mobile data to WiFi the whole app seems to want to reload, even if you are reading downloaded content. I could go on. Worst app experience I have by a long mile. Updating my review in mid 2024, given how totally unusable this app is, I have decided to cancel my subscription. What is the point of buying a service if it cannot be used?

Update after 2 years: Good: fewer crashes. Bad: still horribly laggy & unresponsive (saving / unsaving articles & returning to the article list take seconds to react), links to articles open in browser instead of inside the app, audio player extremely bare bones, app does not remember where I left off & greets me with a loading screen almost every time, saved list does not sync between devices. Love the content, but this alone does not warrant more than 2 stars.

Looks better than the last two apps, BUT the app is overloaded with adds. It was OK to have them on a single page, where you can swipe through (like in the old Economist and the Espresso apps, as well as in the physical newspaper). But having those adds in each of every article between the text is unacceptable! I'm not paying that much money for a subscription to get inundated with adds. Change that ASAP.
