Car Scanner is a vehicle / car performance / trip computer / diagnostics tool and scanner that uses an OBD II Wi-Fi or Bluetooth adapter to connect to your OBD2 engine management / ECU.
Car Scanner gives you a bunch of unique features:

The app requires a Wi-Fi or Bluetooth or Bluetooth 4.0 (Bluetooth LE) OBD2 ELM327 compatible adapter (device) to work. ELM327 devices plugs into the diagnostics socket in the car and gives your phone access to car diagnostics.
Recommended adapters brands: OBDLink, Kiwi 3, V-Gate, Carista, LELink, Veepeak.
If you buy one of the cheap china OBD2 ELM327 adapters from ebay / amazon, then make sure it’s not marked as v.2.1. This adapters are supported, but they have lot’s of bugs.

PLEASE NOTE: Vehicle ECUs vary in the amount of sensors supported. This app can’t show you something, that is not provided by your car.

Attention "bad" adapters! We faced the problem, that some adapters (often cheep Chinese clones), can’t connect to the smartphone or the car. Some of them can even make your car engine work unstable, often lost connection, increase time lag when reading data.
So, we recommend you to use genuine ELM327 or recommended adapter brands.

Ratings and reviews

Sold as a free option. Only they keep pushing you to buy some subscription. Overall the app is useless. Once I selected the device, than the car, than I have an option to choose from a long list of text. I have no idea which four capital letters describe my car's motor. Carista has seen the VIN and detected all the rest. Sure, they do the same scam: buy a subscription to see more, but at least their app is usable.

I was looking for OBD scanner that can read both DTC, ABS, DPF and comfort modules. Others apps provide engine fault codes only. This one shows engine, breaks, shiftgear, HVAC and many more. After a month with this app, I think that Developers did a great job. All works fine and I can monitor my engine parameters at different driving conditions.

This is the app I use all the time for generic obd2. Most simple interface for live data I have found. You would earn a fifth star if you developed better control of x and y graph axes of live data, so I could stop the axes from changing all the time, and be able to control 2 graphs y axes simultaneously. Also, it is ridiculously hard to contact the developer from within the app. Fix it! But overall a great app for my needs.
