Free, live flight tracker and flight status app from FlightAware for Android!

This app allows you to track the real-time flight status and see the live map flight track of any commercial flight worldwide and general aviation (private, charter, etc) in the United States and Canada.

Track by aircraft registration, route, airline, flight number, city pair, or airport code. Tracking data includes complete flight details and full-screen maps with NEXRAD radar overlay.

Receive real-time push notification flight alerts, view airport delays, see nearby flights (in the sky overhead), and more!

Permission to access your Contacts is used only when you choose to create a flight alert to be sent to another person. We do not store or transmit your contacts list in any other way.

Like so many apps now, wants to bombard you with notifications. however, unlike other apps, it's impossible to use unless you agree to receive notifications. The programmers have set it so there's no way to get past the "want notifications" pop-up without agreeing to notifications.

I have been using Flight Aware for a few months to track performance on the flights I will be taking soon. I rely on emails. Two days ago I stopped receiving their emails. My server is not blocking it. I deleted and set up a new account. Still nothing. Their account management page seems to change my notice preferences every time. I am done with them.

Usually when you download an app, you expect more functionality than the website. The opposite is true here. For example you cannot see a planes registration in the app but you can on the website. or detailed info concerning flight data. Full of annoying ads. Removing and going back to the web version.
