Enabling the below privacy settings is recommended:
(Some features to make calls and send messages while navigating is supported only in Korea)
- Microphone: Used to provide voice search or voice comman.(KR only)
- Location: Used to find users' location when users find direction or use navigation.
- Phone: Used to make calls while navigating.(KR only)
- Call history: Used to access receipts of phone calls/messages while navigating.(KR only)
- SMS: Used to send messages while navigating.(KR only)
- File and Media (Photos and Videos, Music and Audios): Used to provide service including navigation smoothly and store required content on a device and view it.(Note that photos and videos are not accessible in NAVER Map app 5.35.2 or later on devices running OS 13.0 or later.)
- Contacts: Used to make calls and send messages while navigating.(KR only)
- Camera: Used in Feedback and NAVER’s MY - Receipt Confirmation to take photos of receipts.

poor management of the app. it suspended my account right after I sign up and entered a wrong character etc at the sign up page. it won't give me a second phone code even though I want to redo it again. is there a way to bypass this headache cause I'm heading to Korea in May and need this app to navigate. I am trying the other one called Kakao map and it seems better and much less hassle to sign in.

tried using Naver Map during my trip to Seoul, but my experience was extremely disappointing. My account was suddenly suspended due to "suspicious activity" before I even had a chance to use the app. I created a second account while already in Korea, and it was canceled again for the same reason. I reached out to User Support, but they told me there was nothing they could do. Completely frustrating and unhelpful. If you're a traveler, I strongly recommend using Kakao Map instead.

Painful experience. It keeps signing you out, if you get your password wrong it doesn't tell you it just keeps asking you to sign in. If you aren't in your home country the reset password messages don't arrive. Had to set up a new account, put in all the places only to have the new account locked in less than 24 hours because "it was machine generated" they said, totally untrue but I have no way to lift the block because you can't get the message. Back to Google maps.
