It has been almost a year since I installed and used Microsoft Defender app. Overall, I'm much more satisfied with MD than Google security; however, I wish it did more than just send out alerts. For example, I have used copilot 365 to help me detect which app on my android phone, disguised as a system app, keeps changing my system settings; giving permissions to Google apps, turning off Microsoft Defender, changing fonts sizes, and more frustrating unauthorized changes. where is MD ?

bunch of nonsense just to try to use this thing. I had to setup account even though it asked if I wanted to use my email already on my device with no additional questions or information to add. then I had to prove I'm human like 11x. waiting for a passcode just to take me to a page that wants we to pay for year. I searched for free antivirus. bunch of nonsense.

the ads STATE that it's ALWAYS 100% free. That would mean, they NEVER charge for it. Yet when I downloaded it, it asked if I wanted to start my one month free trial. That's not what the ads say, the ads say 100% ALWAYS free.
