I'm not sure what's going on with Sonos' app developers, but this app is a mess. Trying to stream music over my system has become incredibly frustrating. Raise the volume in the app, and it mysteriously lowers after a couple of seconds; my paired speakers become unpaired; the app shows no music playing, yet there is. It seems to have a mind of its own. I "force stop" it and run it again with the same results. If the apps purpose is to drive you insane, then it deserves 5 stars.

Horrible app. One of the primary reasons I went with Sonos was for the ability to play from my personal music library. That worked great... Until Sonos updated the app to this new one. It's been 2 to 3 months, and I still don't have the basic function of being able to search and play from my music library. Incredibly frustrating. Also add in what others say about having to open and close the app multiple times. Please Sonos, fix the app. Those considering Sonos, don't.

New app is trash. Zero steps forward and twenty steps back. You now search across all services not just the one you're wanting to use. Need to go back and make it possible to search for say, all the albums an artist created, not just the first ten Sonos lists for me (yes, I hit the "show more" button). It's wild that there could be such a loss of capability after an update. It's not just the ol' "well you'll get used to it after a week"... It's literally worse. Just call it a day and revert
