Disappointed Lacking a long list of functionality such as NAS support, playlist management, library search, only listing album artist, play next and queuing. But to start with the app is very slow and crashes when scrolling through my library by artist and can't get past B/C. For me to invest in the Bose ecosystem rather than switching to Sonos, they better start making big development leaps forward.
Google Music Support?! The Bose sound system sounds great. The external control like Spotify is more preferred than in-app management, but no google music support? How are you going to launch an app on a platform and not even support their music service? I bet you guys are rushing like crazy to add support for apple music. This is unacceptable. I took my sonos back because I like the Bose sound better, but at least sonos supported google music. Right now your hardware is dead weight to my musical needs. UI is horrible by the way!
There is no playlist management on this app which defeats the purpose of the app. I use the system with my music that is in media player from my c drive, there are over 500 albums there and counting. My music choice depends on the kind of day that I am having. This app will not allow you to create a playlist from within the app. You have to go to the actual computer where the music is stored, open media player and create a playlist. If you are listening to a song for example become inspired by it and decide that you want to hear two other songs next there is no way to put them in queue. You actually have to sit at the app, wait for the current song to finish playing before playing the next song. HUGE FAIL! If the main computer housing the music is upstairs and I am on the first floor or the basement even, I have to go all the way up in order to create a playlist. I am not ready to send the hardware back yet but they need to improve this app immediately.
Needs more features - may not keep the hardware if the software doesn't improve quickly Since we can't email the developer we have to hope they are reading the reviews and upgrading the app accordingly. It needs a lot more functionality. It found my library OK, but I would like to be able to direct it to a specific folder. Then it needs a search feature. It's very cumbersome to have to scroll through a huge list of artists etc. Next, an editable que. i.e. select a song, start playing, then add more songs. Or just give us Google Play Music compatibility and solve all this in one fell swoop.
Bose can do better... They clearly rushed this to market to compete, however, they need to fix it fast.I am an early adopters and loyal bose fan and I upgraded my system to be disappointed. The sound is amazing once the system is connected via wifi or ethernet, however, it's very sensitive and from my experience unstable, however, you can't even add music from your Android phone to the app. Therefore, your basically limited to what Bose provides which is extremely limited. We should be able to play any music through your app..
Not functional for me I have all of my music in my amazon account. I listen to podcasts from stitcher and to audiobooks through audible. None of that is possible through this app. I use my bose colorlink speaker instead. Just add Bluetooth connectivity, and nix this terrible app. The lifestyle 2500 system is great as far as the sound goes, but I'm half inclined to send it back and get sonos instead, because this soundtouch thing is really ridiculously non-functional.
