About this game

Set in a realm of eternal night, Grim Omens is a story-driven RPG that puts you in the shoes of a fledgling vampire, a creature of blood and darkness struggling to maintain the grip on their fading humanity in a mysterious and lore-rich dark fantasy setting.

The game combines classic dungeon crawling, familiar turn-based combat, and various roguelike and tabletop elements to create an accessible old-school RPG experience. It relies on written storytelling and hand-drawn artwork to immerse you into its world, often feeling similar to a solo a DnD (Dungeons & Dragons) campaign or even a Choose Your Own Adventure book.

The 3rd entry in the Grim series, Grim Omens, is a standalone sequel to Grim Quest. It refines the established formula of Grim Quest and Grim Tides, all the while offering an intricate story and detailed lore that ties in with other games in Grim series in strange and unexpected ways. Even so, you can play it without any previous experience or knowledge of the series.

The monetization model is a freemium one, which means you can play the game with a few ads, or you can get rid of them, permanently and completely with a one-time purchase, effectively buying the game. No other purchases are required.

Love the game, has lots of fun combinations possible, although there may be some balancing needed. It's way more difficult the tides or quest, but what makes it even harder for me is that for some reason I can't get the ads to play for the wages... please fix it. :( I'd love to pay for ads-free IAP, but I was hoping it could be around $5.00 or so. If there were a sale on it, I'll definitely buy it.

compared to the other 2 games, this feels a bit off. I disliked that the combat was forced to be 2 turns when it was optional in the other games, but if it was 1 turn, it would throw the whole new blood dynamic off. the double wepon is interesting, but you can't get much mileage unless very experienced or late game. The armor system is a bit complex compared to quest. The story felt like the dev wanted to make a new IP but wanted to make the game similar to the past ones. the art is good tho

Took a bit of getting used to, as I never played the previous games or anything like them before. Now that I'm several hours in, I can say it's pretty dang fun, challenging at times, relatively easy at others. The perks and itemization can allow for numerous builds, though I've only really played an AoE Mage at this point. Resource management is simple to pick up with a higher ceiling available if you care to aim for it. Looking forward to bearing it and trying out the other games in the series!
